Paper submission

All regular papers should be prepared and submitted according to the following guidelines.

Review

All submissions will be reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers and by one program chair. It is not required that the submissions are anonymous, but it is possible to submit anonymously if that option is preferred. Papers will be accepted for oral or for poster presentation.

Awards

During the conference, two awards will be announced based on recommendations of anonymous reviewers and programme committee members: best paper award and best student paper award. The award papers will be invited to submit extended manuscripts to the special issue of Pattern Recognition Letters journal (an official publication of the IAPR).

Paper format

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, which in turn will appear as a volume in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. Authors are to follow these paper formatting guidelines.

Paper length

Accepted papers are limited to 10 pages, with a possibility to buy two extra pages. A submitted paper may contain up to 12 pages.

Submission system

All papers are to be submitted using the CMT service https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/SCIA2013 . The submission system is now closed for new submissions.

Deadline

The deadline for full paper submissions was February 1 January 18 (Pacific Time, UTC-8), 2013.
